This month we made the first acquisition for the museum — an original iPad from 2011, still “new” in its unopened shrink-wrapped box. Not quite the vintage item you would expect in a museum, but a first of its kind.

We were not able to get the iPad to work because of the battery — it was completely discharged. When plugged in, the iPad would try starting, indicate that it needed to connect to a computer, but there was no charge in the battery at all so the iPad would reset after a few seconds. We couldn’t get it out of this cycle no matter what I tried.

So, we put it back in its box and on the shelf. For now…
