Swiss computer scientist Niklaus Emil Wirth, the designer of the Pascal programming language, has died

He was a professor at Stanford University, the University of Zürich, and ETH Zürich.
In 1984, he received the Association of Computing Machines (ACM) Turing Award and in 1994 he was inducted as a fellow of the same association.
